Accessing the Playground

1. Connect to your organization's VPN
2. Open a browser and go to your Epic training URL (provided by your Epic coordinator)
3. Log in with your training account credentials
4. Select the Training environment from the environment picker
5. You should see "Training" or "Playground" in the banner to confirm you're not in production

Setting Up Training Accounts

1. Request training user accounts from your Epic team or coordinator
2. Each role (physician, nurse, scheduler) needs a separate training login
3. Accounts are created in the Epic Security module by your build team
4. Test each login before training sessions begin
5. Set temporary passwords and share securely with trainees

Resetting Training Patients

1. Navigate to the Epic menu in Hyperspace
2. Search for Reset Patient or ask your build team to run a reset script
3. Select the training patient to reset (e.g., "Test, Patient One")
4. Choose which data to clear: orders, notes, results, or full reset
5. Confirm the reset — the chart returns to its baseline state

Playground Best Practices

• Always verify you're in Training, never production
• Use Training Wheels to guide new users through workflows
• Create realistic patient scenarios matching your specialty
• Run through each scenario yourself before training others
• Keep a list of training patient MRNs handy for quick access
• Coordinate reset schedules so multiple trainers don't reset simultaneously
